A suspicious driver has been locked up after eagle-eyed police uncovered a secret stash of Class A drugs stuffed inside his vehicle’s sound system.
Ramesses Yebiemen’s lucrative illegal operation came to a crashing halt during a routine patrol in Tunbridge Wells. Sharp-witted constables from the Neighbourhood Task Force spotted the twenty-nine-year-old acting suspiciously behind the wheel in the Oak Road area. Officers tailed the vehicle to Rymers Close, where they swiftly boxed him in and detained him.
Realising the game was up, the London-based dealer from Haringey initially handed over fifty-seven wraps of cocaine and heroin that he had desperately stuffed down his underwear. However, suspicious officers refused to stop there and gave the motor a thorough search, but officers quickly noticed the car’s speakers were loose and easily removable. Upon ripping them out, police hit the jackpot, discovering three containers crammed with Class A drugs, alongside bundles of dirty cash and weighing scales.
Yebiemen was hauled away and slapped with charges including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of criminal property, and driving without insurance. His luck finally ran out at Maidstone Crown Court, where he was sentenced to two years and four months behind bars.
Speaking after the sentencing, Sergeant Ed Kavanagh praised his team’s quick instincts, warning other dealers to stay away from the area. He made it clear that officers are always on the lookout for suspicious behaviour and warned any criminals thinking of bringing drugs into Kent that they will face the exact same fate.
