Police mounted a swift response in Dover after a group of rogue traders allegedly targeted local residents by manufacturing roof damage and demanding payment.
Neighbourhood officers were alerted to suspicious activity in Castle Drive, Whitfield, shortly before 2:30 pm on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.
A group arrived in the neighborhood in a van before approaching homeowners to claim that urgent house repairs were required. Investigators report that suspect individuals accessed a resident’s roof, reported damage, and subsequently demanded money.
Officers attended the scene immediately and conducted inquiries that led to the quick arrest of two 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old boy. The trio were taken into custody and have since been released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.
