In the early hours of 27 January 2023, two phone shops in Orpington and Sevenoaks High Street were allegedly burgled by three people.

A quantity of mobile phones, tablets and other property were reported stolen from both premises.

Crowbar and hammer

Just before midnight on the same day, two people entered a fast food restaurant in Otford Road where it was alleged a member of staff was assaulted with a crowbar and hammer, before a quantity of cash was stolen. The injured victim later went to hospital for medical attention.

On Thursday 16 February, a man from New Addington was arrested. He was later charged with robbery, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He was also charged with conspiring to commit burglaries in Orpington and Sevenoaks.

The 32-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 17 February. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 17 March.
