A suspect has appeared in court charged in connection with multiple serious assaults in Gillingham that left two people in hospital with knife wounds.
The charges follow an incident late on Monday evening, when two victims, a man and a teenager, were attacked in an alleyway linking Ingram Road and Woodlands Road. Both were treated at a local hospital for injuries consistent with stab wounds and have since been allowed home.
Police launched an investigation, which led officers to identify a third alleged assault that had taken place nearby earlier in the month. A suspect was arrested two days after the alleyway attack and subsequently charged with three counts of wounding with intent, along with weapons offences involving a bladed article in public.
The accused appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody. The case has been sent to Maidstone Crown Court, where the next hearing is scheduled for late August.
