A dramatic emergency response on Monday, 20 July 2026 erupted in Kingsnorth as thick smoke billowed over an industrial estate following a fierce double container fire.
Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier rushed to the scene on Long Length shortly before midday after urgent calls reported two large containers engulfed in flames. Emergency crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service arrived to find a rapidly escalating situation at the commercial premises.
Firefighters clad in heavy breathing apparatus unleashed specialized compressed air foam and high-pressure hose jets to smother the flames before they could spread to neighbouring units.
South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics scrambled to the site to provide immediate medical aid. One individual was treated at the scene for a minor burn and suspected smoke inhalation, though fortunately they did not require hospitalisation. No other casualties were reported.
After a tense two-hour battle, fire crews successfully extinguished the blaze and made the area safe. The cause of the sudden outbreak remains under investigation.
