Fire crews have successfully extinguished a significant blaze involving a combine harvester and a surrounding field in Sittingbourne.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed four fire engines to Bredgar Road in Swale just after 5:15 pm on Friday evening, 17 July, following reports that the agricultural machinery had caught fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus worked quickly to control the flames, deploying a compressed air foam system and heavy-duty main jets to tackle both the vehicle and the fire that had begun spreading through the crops.
Crews remained at the scene for over two hours, bringing the incident to a close by 7:27 pm. Officials confirmed there were no injuries reported, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
