A mountain bike has been recovered and suspected thief arrested in the space of fifteen minutes in Canterbury.
Kent Police was called to the city centre just after 10pm on Monday 13 April 2026 where the bicycle was reported to have been taken from a car park on Iron Bar Lane, along with a bike lock and set of lights. Patrols attended and, at 10.20pm, a man with a push bike was detained in Upper Bridge Street.
The cycle was secured and, after searches were completed, a set of bolt croppers was also seized. A 47 year old man was arrested in connection with the incident and was taken into custody. The bike was later returned to its owner.
