DARTFORD, Kent – Firefighters are investigating a suspected deliberate fire after a large pile of waste was set ablaze on Bob Dunn Way Wednesday evening.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a significant rubbish fire at approximately 19:34 on April 22. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where crews worked for just over an hour to contain the flames and prevent further spread.
To manage the blaze and protect against potential fumes, crews wore breathing apparatus while utilizing high-pressure hose reel jets for rapid suppression. Firefighters also used drag rakes to break apart the waste piles, ensuring no deep-seated embers remained and the scene was declared safe by 20:44. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, though officials have confirmed the cause is believed to be deliberate.
