Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious two-vehicle collision on the A20 in Folkestone on Tuesday evening. Emergency services were called to the coastbound carriageway at 8:45 pm on 3 March 2026, after a white MAN articulated lorry collided with a stationary grey Peugeot 308 near the entrance to the Roundhill Tunnel.
Officers and paramedics attended the scene, where the driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 30s, was treated for multiple injuries. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital and remains there for ongoing medical care.
The driver of the lorry, a 52-year-old man, was taken to the hospital as a precaution but was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody at this time. Following an investigation at the scene, the road was successfully reopened to traffic at approximately 1:45 am on Wednesday 4 March.
Investigators are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen either vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash, to contact the authorities. Individuals with relevant dashcam footage or information who have not yet spoken to the police are asked to call 01843 222289 and quote reference 03-1478.
