WESTERHAM — Investigators are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision involving an electric motorcycle in Westerham on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 am on February 26, 2026, when a white OneMX electric motorcycle crashed into a building on the High Street near the junction with New Street. The motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, was travelling north from the direction of Edenbridge prior to the crash. According to Kent Police, a patrol car had been following the vehicle before it entered the High Street, where officers subsequently discovered the site of the collision.
The rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to a London hospital for treatment. Medical staff currently describe his condition as stable. Due to the police involvement prior to the crash, a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to review the circumstances of the event.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the inquiry and urges anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorcycle beforehand to come forward.
