A 65-year-old man who caused damage to five vehicles in Gravesend. including one which was parked at North Kent Police Station, has been jailed.

At 10pm on Tuesday 21 January 2025, Neil Burt targeted a car dealership in Overcliffe in which he threw pieces of brick at four stationary Vauxhalls, smashing a windscreen and causing scratches, gouges and scuffs.
He was arrested around 30 minutes later, and on Thursday 23 January admitted four counts of criminal damage at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was immediately sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment.
Burt, who had previously appeared at the same court on Monday 20 January, when he admitted his involvement in a separate incident in which a rock was thrown at a windscreen of a car parked at North Kent Police Station.
As well as the prison sentence, Burt was also ordered to pay a total of £740 in compensation relating to all five cars.
