A girl who was with a woman outside a shop on Tankerton Road at around 5pm on Tuesday 23 January 2024 was allegedly bitten by a small dog that was tethered beside the shop door as she walked past.

She sustained puncture wounds to her finger and received treatment for her injuries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the report and have since been carrying out enquiries, which have established that a man was seen in the area who may be able to assist. He is described as white, of slim build and with a slim face, wearing a blue jacket with white reflective patches and a green beanie hat.
