A shoplifting suspect has been charged with multiple offences in Maidstone.

  • On 29 December 2023, groceries valued at around £100 were reported stolen from a petrol station on London Road.
  • Kent Police was then notified of the theft of laundry products and foodstuffs worth around £30, from Poundland in Week Street on Tuesday 6 February 2024.
  • Staff at a chemist in King Street also alleged the theft of toiletries and other items with a total value almost £80, on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 16 February.

On Thursday 22 February, a Chatham woman was arrested in connection with the incidents and was later charged by investigators from the Maidstone Victim Based Crime Team with four thefts from retail premises. She was also charged with the theft of a parcel from outside a house in Balzalgette Rise on 25 January.

The 36-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 23 February.
