A suspect has been tracked down and charged following a violent assault on a member of staff at a Maidstone petrol station in March of this year.

It is reported the victim suffered a fractured eye socket after he was repeatedly punched by a customer at a BP garage in London Road, Allington on 30 March 2023.

An investigation by Maidstone CID officers led to the identification of a suspect, who on 20 December was located and arrested at an address where he was living in Aylesford.

A man, aged 23, was taken into custody and later charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He was also charged with offences carried out on 20 December which comprised of possessing an offensive weapon (a knuckle duster), driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.

The suspect was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 22 December.
