Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a kitchen fire at the Lady Luck pub in Canterbury, at lunchtime today, 27 December after a deep fat fryer was reported to be alight.

Three fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a fire blanket and a dry powder extinguisher to put the fire out.

One man suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.
