An appeal for witnesses has been made after a man was assaulted in Canterbury.

It was reported that between 10pm and 10.50pm on 20 June 2022, a delivery man was sitting in a car outside a takeaway restaurant in Sturry Road, when he was approached by three men and assaulted.

A member of the public was able to assist the victim in getting away from the suspects and calling the police. The suspects were reported to have left the scene in the Kingsmead direction.

The victim sustained a superficial wound to his arm.

All three suspects were described as being around 5ft 6ins tall with black hair. Two were described as slim and aged in their late teens. The first suspect was wearing a black jacket, grey trousers, a black hat and carrying a black bag.

The second suspect was reported to be wearing a black t-shirt and brown trousers.

The third suspect was medium build and believed to be around 25 years old. He had a beard and was thought to be wearing a blue shirt.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy from Canterbury have been arrested in connection with the assault.

Detective Inspector Julien Lawton said: ‘Two arrests have been made already but we are keen to hear from anyone who might have information regarding this incident.

‘Witnesses to the assault or anyone who was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries is asked to come forward.’
