Officers and staff at the Kent Police Control Room swapped their uniforms for their normal clothes to help support victims of hate crime.
The Force Control Room operators held dress down weekends throughout October, not only to raise awareness of hate crime but also to celebrate Black History Month.
Staff that wanted to participate paid £1 towards Stop Hate UK, a charity that was set up in 1995 to support victims of racial harassment.
A total of £745.52 was raised.
Organiser Isabelle, a call handler at the control room in Maidstone said: ‘This was a great opportunity to celebrate Black History Month but also contribute to an organisation affiliated with the event.
‘It was great to see so many people embrace the event and also be able to engage and discuss with staff who may not have been exposed to black history and culture before.’
