An Aylesford man has been charged following a serious assault in Maidstone.

At around 11.30am on Monday 23 November 2020, Kent Police received a report that a man in his 30s had been assaulted in Mill Lane near its junction with James Whatman Way.

The victim had suffered an injury consistent with a stab wound and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A man and woman were later arrested in the Shooter’s Hill area of London on suspicion of assault and were taken into custody.

A man from Aylesford was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed weapon in a public place.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 25 November.

A 19-year-old woman from Maidstone was later bailed to return to the police station on 16 December.
