A suspected cocaine dealer has been charged after he was stopped by a patrol in Maidstone.

On Saturday 21 November 2020, officers were in an unmarked police vehicle in Douglas Road, when their attention was drawn to a Vauxhall Meriva that had stopped at the side of the road.

Suspecting the driver to be involved in the supply of drugs, the officers approached the vehicle on foot.

Following a search, they seized a plastic pot containing twenty wraps of suspected cocaine and ten deals of herbal cannabis.

The man was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs.

A 24-year-old London man was later charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 November.
