Emergency services rushed to a residential property in Dover on Sunday afternoon following reports of a severe bedroom fire.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the incident on Buckland Avenue at 2:56 pm on Sunday, 20 September 2026.

Five fire engines alongside a height vehicle attended the scene, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics were also in attendance and assessed one individual at the scene for suspected smoke inhalation. Operations were concluded by 4:47 pm, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
