A registered sex offender who superimposed images of acquaintances onto pornographic pictures has been sent back to prison for three years.
Officers from Kent Police conducted an unannounced visit to a property on Station Road, Rainham, following the release of a 75-year-old man from custody in July 2026. The individual had previously been convicted in 2013 for making indecent images of children and was subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order prohibiting him from possessing image-editing software or unmonitored digital storage devices.
During a thorough search of the home, officers discovered a hidden USB stick beneath a pillow, alongside a mobile phone and tablet loaded with photo-editing applications. Forensic analysis of the devices revealed extreme pornographic material, indecent images of children, and multiple digitally altered explicit images featuring faces of people known to him.
Following an early guilty plea to multiple offences, including making indecent images of children, creating non-consensual intimate images, and breaching his prevention order, he was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 11 September 2026. Investigating officers noted that the proactive monitoring of registered offenders remains crucial to protecting the public and ensuring strict compliance with court restrictions.
