On Saturday afternoon, 11 July, armed Police were called to Mote Park following calls that a group of people had been threatened with a weapon.
As patrols arrived, members of the public informed them that the suspect had left the scene, and an imitation firearm was recovered. The officers carried out enquiries and shortly afterwards a man was arrested.
A 59-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 July where he was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is at Maidstone Crown Court on 10 August 2026.
