Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred near Appledore yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 3.30pm on Monday 4 May 2026, a red and purple Triumph Speed Twin motorcycle was travelling northbound along Military Road as part of a larger group of riders. During the journey, the motorcycle left the carriageway on the offside and collided with a hedgerow.
Emergency responders attended the scene, but the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was tragically pronounced dead at the site of the incident. His next of kin have been notified.
Members of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now conducting enquiries to establish the circumstances of the crash. They are requesting that anyone who witnessed the collision or who has relevant dashcam footage from the area at the time comes forward.
