Police have issued a renewed, urgent appeal for dashcam footage and witnesses following a serious hit-and-run collision in Faversham that has left a pedestrian in a critical condition. The incident occurred at approximately 7:45 PM on Saturday, September 27th, when a 65-year-old man was struck by a vehicle as he walked in the North Lane area, near the junction with Partridge Lane. The vehicle responsible failed to stop, fleeing the scene immediately after the impact.

The victim was rushed to a London hospital where his condition remains critical. Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are particularly keen to trace the movements of a Nissan flatbed/tipper truck and are urging the public for any sightings of the vehicle in the area.

Investigators are specifically attempting to identify and speak with the drivers of two other vehicles seen in the area moments before the crash:

  • A Ford Focus
  • Another small hatchback

Both vehicles were travelling south on North Lane towards South Road. Police believe the drivers of these cars may have vital information or may have witnessed the Nissan tipper’s actions leading up to the collision. While three people have been arrested in connection with the incident and subsequently released on bail, the investigation is continuing to piece together the full circumstances of the crash.

Kent Police is urging anyone who saw the incident, or who has information about the movements of the Nissan tipper, to come forward.

  • Dashcam or phone footage can be uploaded directly via the police’s online portal.
  • Witnesses can also call Kent Police on 01622 798538, quoting reference BS/CF/066/25.
  • Information can also be emailed directly to the SCIU team at sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
