A drug dealer who tried to conceal his identity behind a fake driving licence when stopped by police in Gravesend has been sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
Vilson Rexhep, 29, was spotted acting suspiciously by officers on proactive patrol along Parrock Street and Brandon Street on Tuesday 9 June 2026. Suspecting a transaction was taking place after observing him meet another man, officers stopped Rexhep, who initially provided a false name and fake licence.
Upon establishing his true identity, police searched the Albanian national, from Tunbridge Wells. They uncovered cocaine on his person alongside a matchbox hidden in his underwear containing further amounts of the class A drug. Text messages found on his mobile phone confirmed he was dealing for a supply network known as the ‘Eddie’ drugs line.
Rexhep pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possessing identity documents with intent. He was sentenced on 26 August 2026 at Maidstone Crown Court.
Investigating officer Police Constable James Heaver said:
‘Rexhep was identified because officers on proactive patrol recognised behaviour that was clearly suspicious and acted swiftly to investigate.
‘Drug dealers bring misery to our communities and profit from the exploitation of vulnerable people.
‘We will continue to utilise our resources and enforcement activity to identify offenders, disrupt drug networks and bring those responsible before the courts.’
