A Croydon drug dealer who attempted to discard cocaine in a bright white sports sock after being pulled over by officers in Tonbridge has been sent to prison.
Aseed Jabarkhil hurled the sock from his vehicle window moments after a police patrol signalled for him to pull over along The Ridgeway on the evening of Sunday 15 March 2026. Despite the darkness, officers easily spotted the tied-up sock lying on the grass verge. Upon inspection, they seized five individual deal bags of cocaine hidden inside.
A subsequent search of the 36-year-old’s car uncovered £245 in cash alongside a written list of suspected drug buyers, leading to his prompt arrest. Further forensic analysis of Jabarkhil’s mobile phone revealed additional evidence detailing his drug supply operations.
Jabarkhil, from Croydon, was subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 28 February and 16 March. Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court, the Afghan national pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison on Tuesday 1 September.
Detective Sergeant Rob Hemsley said:
‘Sometimes when drug dealers realise they might be stopped by police, they will try to get rid any illicit substances they have.
‘But our officers are trained to be able to react quickly, so they were instantly alert to Jabarkhil’s failed attempt to dispose of the cocaine that night and knew something was afoot.
‘Thanks to their quick actions, another drug dealer had been stopped and brought before the courts.’
