Firefighters were called to a commercial premises in Harrietsham on Thursday afternoon, 27 August, following reports of a fire involving a sauna.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines from Maidstone to the scene on Greenway Lane after the alarm was raised at 3:30 pm.

Upon arrival, crews wearing breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets to tackle the fire, which had spread to the roof structure. Firefighters successfully brought the flames under control and fully extinguished the incident by 5:24 pm.

No injuries were reported and an initial investigation indicates that the fire was accidental, caused by a fault with the log burner’s flue system that subsequently ignited the roof.
