A dangerous rapist who subjected a woman to a violent ordeal before forcing her into a car and kidnapping her has been jailed for two decades.
The horrific violence began when 32-year-old Louis Taylor dragged his victim around a room by her hair and neck. Wearing steel toe-capped boots, Taylor repeatedly kicked the victim, punched her, and struck her with a vacuum cleaner pipe, inflicting severe physical injuries. He then sexually assaulted and raped her.
Following the assault, Taylor forced the traumatised victim into a vehicle and threatened her with further harm if she made a sound. As he drove into Rochester on Saturday 18 October 2025, he was forced to stop at a petrol station on City Way. Seizing the opportunity, the victim managed to alert members of the public, who immediately called the police. Officers arrived swiftly to take her into their care, arresting Taylor the same day.
An investigation launched by Kent Police revealed further offending by Taylor, including an earlier rape and assault. Whilst in custody, Taylor was charged with a catalogue of serious offences.
At Woolwich Crown Court on Friday 21 August 2026, Taylor, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to eight charges: three counts of rape, wounding with intent, assault by penetration, burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, attempted grievous bodily harm, and kidnapping. Further charges of intentional suffocation, sexual assault, and assault will lie on file. Taylor was also placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.

‘The severity of his sentence reflects that of his crimes as well as the trauma he has caused his victim.
‘The judge commended the victim’s bravery, and she has shown immense courage in providing key evidence which enabled justice to be served.
‘Kent Police is committed to ensuring all victims of violence against women and girls receive vital support and we will always seek to hold offenders to account.
‘In this case I am satisfied Taylor is behind bars where he cannot continue to cause any further harm like that of which he has already inflicted.’
