A 23-year-old London man who subjected a woman in Faversham to months of controlling, violent, and financially coercive abuse has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Abdul Qudus Odushoga, from London, stole money from his victim, demanded expensive gifts, and forced her to rely on loved ones to survive.
His violent conduct escalated to physical assaults, including biting, throwing a shopping trolley at her, dragging her by the neck, and throwing her through a wardrobe. The abuse culminated when the victim contacted the police, prompting Odushoga to launch a brutal attack in which he attempted to strangle her and smashed her head into a metal cabinet and the floor before fleeing.
Odushoga was arrested shortly after and subsequently pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, intentional strangulation, and coercive control, leading to his imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court.
