Three men have been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into an attempted aggravated burglary in Folkestone town centre.
Emergency services were alerted in mid-July after a group tried to force entry into a residential property, with one member of the group reportedly carrying a weapon.
Detectives initiated a thorough enquiry using CCTV footage to trace the suspects’ movements before and after the incident. A public media appeal featuring security images yielded vital information from local residents, which helped investigators identify those involved.
Police subsequently located and arrested all three individuals at an address in Dover. During the operation, officers seized a knife, several mobile phones, a significant quantity of cash, drug paraphernalia, and suspected crack cocaine and heroin.
The suspects were remanded in custody and formally charged with a range of offences, including conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. The trio appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court and are scheduled to attend Canterbury Crown Court for their next hearing in late September.
