Three men are set to appear at Crown Court next month facing a slate of serious charges following a probe into a violent attempt to force entry into a coastal town home.
Emergency calls alerted officers late in the afternoon on 17 July to reports that a group, with at least one person brandishing a weapon, had tried to break into a residential address in Folkestone town centre.
Detectives launched an extensive inquiry, painstakingly reviewing CCTV footage across the area to track the movements of those involved before and after the incident. A public appeal featuring security images subsequently yielded vital information from local residents, helping investigators pinpoint their primary suspects.
Officers located and arrested three suspects at an address in Dover on 18 August. A search of the property led to the recovery of suspected crack cocaine and heroin, drug paraphernalia, a large stash of cash, a knife, and several mobile phones.
All three suspects were remanded in custody before being formally charged the following day with offences including conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of an offensive weapon. Following an initial appearance at Margate Magistrates’ Court on 20 August, they have been remanded to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on 21 September.
