Dozens of vehicles were seized and tens of fines issued during recent targeted operations against nuisance and illegal drivers across Gravesend and surrounding rural wards, including Meopham, Istead Rise, and Vigo.
Special Constabulary officers carried out high-visibility patrols across two Saturdays in August, resulting in over 100 vehicle stops in a single day.
Across both operations, police issued 72 Traffic Offence Reports including mobile phone use behind the wheel, careless driving, defective tyres, and driving without a licence, insurance, or tax. Officers impounded two illegal off-road motorbikes, an e-bike, a van untaxed for nearly two years, and an Audi A7 driven in a anti-social manner.
Additionally, two nuisance riders crossing farmers’ fields received fines for breaching a Public Space Protection Order, whilst a speed camera van caught 27 motorists exceeding the speed limit and committing seat belt offences.
Chief Inspector Sarah Rivett said officers take anti-social behaviour seriously and will continue targeting individuals who endanger the public.
