Two men have been arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation following reports of rogue traders targeting an elderly resident near Kemsing.
Officers were called to an address near Pilgrims’ Way shortly around 12.20pm on Thursday 6 August after two individuals had allegedly approached a pensioner at his home the previous day, offering to carry out repair work.
The men reportedly failed to complete the agreed work before demanding additional money from the victim. Police swiftly attended the property and arrested two suspects at the scene, before returning the following day to make further arrests when the suspects returned.
A 25-year-old man from West Malling and a 19-year-old man of no fixed address were taken into custody and have since been released on bail pending further enquiries as the investigation continues.
