A suspect has been promptly charged by officers in Dover as the clampdown on vehicle crime across the district continues.
Between Wednesday 15 and Sunday 19 July, local police received reports that vehicles had been tampered with in Diana Gardens, Mongeham Road, and Glack Road in Deal. Enquiries were completed by officers, leading to an arrest on Tuesday 21 July. The following day, vehicle interference charges were secured against a twenty-eight-year-old resident from Deal.
The suspect appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and bailed with conditions to attend a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday 14 August.
Measures being taken in response to reports of vehicle crime across the district have included increased, high-visibility patrols in target areas alongside proactive vehicle stops.
Senior police representatives emphasized that officers understand the concern and frustration vehicle crime causes for victims and the wider community. They reassured residents that the force remains committed to tackling the issue through a range of enforcement tactics, while urging anyone who witnesses suspicious activity or has information about offending to report it promptly so officers can pursue the most robust options available.
