Investigators have renewed an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the A20 in Dover.

Kent Police was called to the incident on Limekiln Street at 3.42am on Thursday 9 July 2026. It is reported a collision took place, involving a pedestrian and a lorry, between Union Street and York Street. The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was airlifted to a London hospital where she later died. Her next of kin has been informed.

A 41 year old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released while an investigation continues.


Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident, or the moments leading up to it, to contact them. A man reported to have been walking with the victim in Townwall Street, earlier the same morning, is urged to come forward. He is thought to have been wearing a long, white sleeved shirt and dark coloured shorts.
