Detectives are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a serious assault in Canterbury which left a teenager in hospital.
Kent Police were called to New Ruttington Lane at 10:20pm on Friday 26 June 2026. Officers attended the scene alongside crew from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, where an 18-year-old man was treated for injuries consistent with a stab wound. The victim was subsequently taken to a London hospital; his condition is described as serious but stable, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time.
Later that evening, officers arrested two Afghan nationals, aged 19 and 20, in connection with the incident. Both men have since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
An investigation into the circumstances remains underway. Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the assault and has not yet come forward to contact them immediately. Local residents, business owners, and motorists are also being asked to check their private CCTV and dashcam footage for any relevant material.
