Dog lovers of Ashford, rejoice! The borough’s most anticipated canine extravaganza, Barklife, is officially making its grand return to Victoria Park on Saturday 8 August. From 10am to 2pm, the park will transform into a paradise for pooches and their humans alike, promising a day packed with wagging tails and wonderful memories.
This year’s event features an exciting twist, as Ashford Borough Council teams up with Cats Protection to launch the Big Dog Walk. The day kicks off with a massive group stroll around the park, with everyone meeting outside Harper’s Café at 10am to get those paws moving.
Once the walk wraps up, the real drama begins at 11am with the highly anticipated, free-to-enter dog show. Held on the main field arena, there is absolutely no need to register in advance—simply turn up when your category is called.

Beyond the main arena, visitors can browse a fantastic selection of stalls featuring local pet-related businesses, ranging from expert vets and groomers to unique pet accessories. Harper’s Café will also be joining the fun by serving up a delightful range of doggie-themed treats.
To ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible, organizers have shared a few house rules for the furry guests. All dogs must remain on a lead and under control at all times, and owners are strictly required to clear up after their pets. Please note that dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act will not be permitted to enter the event.
As parking at Victoria Park and the surrounding roads is limited, visitors are strongly encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport, utilizing the excellent local bus routes and park cycle racks. For those who absolutely must drive, paid parking is available a short five-minute stroll away at the Victoria Road car park.
