Detectives are urgently appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was reportedly left injured in a shocking assault by a gang of youths armed with catapults in Cranbrook.
It’s reported the terrifying incident occurred at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday 16 June, when Kent Police were called to Waterloo Road following reports that a group of five teenagers were deliberately targeting a man in his 70s. The suspects, described as being between 16 and 18 years old, fled the scene in the direction of The Hill area, a local hotspot known as ‘The Crane’. Officers attended the scene and spoke to the victim, who subsequently required treatment at a local hospital for his injuries.
An investigation has been launched, and Kent Police are now calling on the local community for assistance.
