A 32-year-old man has been arrested following a major spate of criminal damage that left 67 cars damaged across Folkestone.
Kent Police received a wave of reports between Friday 19 June and Sunday 21 June 2026 detailing widespread damage to vehicles. The incidents were concentrated in several parts of the town, including Black Bull Road, Radnor Park Road, and Wear Bay Road. Following swift enquiries, officers arrested an Iraqi national on the evening of Sunday 21 June in connection with the investigation. He currently remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Detectives are now urging anyone who has not yet reported damage to their vehicle or property to come forward. Residents with private CCTV systems and motorists with dashcam footage recorded in the area over the weekend are also being asked to check their devices for any relevant evidence.

Detective Inspector Carlo Capozzi said:
‘Officers are working to contact those affected and keep them updated as the investigation progresses. I understand that damage to personal property can be distressing, and we are continuing to pursue all lines of enquiry.
‘At this stage, we are not seeking to arrest anyone further in connection with these offences, but we are keen to hear from anyone who may have information which can assist our investigation.’
