Witnesses Sought After 80-Year-Old Motorcyclist dies in Collision near Sevenoaks


Detectives are appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage following a fatal road traffic collision near Sevenoaks.

Kent Police were called to the scene on the A227 Tonbridge Road in Ightham at 9.35am on Thursday 11 June 2026, following a collision involving a red Honda motorcycle and a white Citroen Dispatch panel van. Emergency services, including police officers, fire crews, and paramedics, attended the incident. Despite their efforts, the 80-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers have confirmed that his next of kin have been informed.

Investigators from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen either vehicle in the moments leading up to it, to come forward. Motorists who were travelling in the area at the time are also requested to check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist the ongoing investigation.
