Witness Appeal After Teenage Driver Dies and Two Passengers Seriously Hurt in Staplehurst Crash


Kent Police are appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage following a fatal single-vehicle collision in Staplehurst.

Emergency services were called to Headcorn Road at 8.25pm on Thursday 11 June 2026 after a blue Seat Ibiza Xcellence left the road. The vehicle had been travelling from Headcorn towards Staplehurst when it veered off at the junction with Sweetlands Lane and collided with a tree.

Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The driver, a 17-year-old girl, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. Two passengers in the car also sustained injuries. A 19-year-old man was taken to a London hospital in a life-threatening condition, while a 17-year-old boy was conveyed to a local hospital with serious injuries.
