Police Appeal For Witnesses After 88-year-old Man Dies in Herne Bay Collision


Detectives are appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage after an 88-year-old man tragically died following a two-vehicle collision in Herne Bay.

Kent Police were called to Heart in Hand Road at 11:36 am on Friday 22 May 2026. Emergency services attended the scene, and the elderly man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where he subsequently passed away. His next of kin have been informed.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the vehicles beforehand, to come forward.


Motorists who were travelling in the area at the time are also requested to check their dashcam footage for anything that might assist the enquiry. Footage can be uploaded directly to the Kent Police online portal.
