Suspected Luxury Car Thief Charged After Cross-Country Police Pursuit

A luxury sports car reported stolen from a property near Canterbury was recovered just two hours later following a swift, collaborative investigation between two police forces.

The vehicle, which had been fitted with a tracking device, was allegedly taken from an address in Kingston on the morning of Monday 8 June. The tracker quickly revealed that the car had been driven across the country and was travelling through Dorset.

Kent Police immediately shared this information with colleagues at Dorset Police. Officers in Dorset successfully located the vehicle and safely brought it to a stop, arresting the driver at the scene on suspicion of theft a mere two hours after the initial report was made.

A 47-year-old man of no fixed address was charged the following day with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving without insurance. He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 10 June and has been remanded into custody.
