The vision for the Otterpool Park garden town has moved significantly closer to reality following the approval of vital infrastructure plans.
Kent County Council recently granted permission for the development of wastewater treatment works, integrated wetlands, and a primary substation. These essential components, submitted by Otterpool Park LLP after a period of public consultation, represent a foundational step in preparing the site for future residents.
Council Leader Cllr Jim Martin expressed his enthusiasm for the decision, noting that the approved infrastructure is critical for maintaining high environmental standards and ensuring sustainable water management for the growing community. This planning success coincides with a renewed collaboration between Folkestone & Hythe District Council and Homes England. This partnership provides the council with specialized expertise and the institutional support necessary to attract large-scale investment for the project.
Evidence of this commitment was further solidified by Homes England’s recent land acquisitions, which will facilitate the delivery of new housing within the garden town.
