Firefighters Battle to Extinguish House Blaze in Gillingham

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to reports of a house fire on Rainham Road in Gillingham on Thursday afternoon.

Responding just before 4pm, five fire engines and a height vehicle arrived on the scene to tackle the blaze. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked quickly to contain the flames by using main jets, hose reel jets, and covering jets to extinguish the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

After the fire was successfully brought under control by 5.10pm, crews deployed high-pressure ventilation fans to clear the thick smoke from the building. While the fire caused significant activity in the Medway area for over an hour, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
