EAST MALLING – Detectives have launched an investigation into a robbery at a local park and are calling on the public to help identify two suspects who allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old boy before stealing his bicycle.
The incident took place between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in the parkland situated on Clare Lane. The young victim was spending time with friends near a lake when he was approached by two teenagers he did not know. According to reports, the pair assaulted the boy and forcibly took his Carrera Subway hybrid bicycle.
The suspects, described as a boy and a girl in their early teens with slim builds, were last seen heading toward Larkfield. The girl is described as having long blond hair and was wearing a green T-shirt, blue denim shorts, and white Crocs. The boy was reportedly wearing black tracksuit bottoms paired with a dark grey puffer jacket.
Kent Police officers attended the scene and have completed initial enquiries, but the investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are now eager to speak with anyone who was in the vicinity of Clare Lane or the nearby lake during the late afternoon. Residents and motorists are specifically asked to check any private CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the suspects fleeing the area.
