Kent Police have secured a three-month closure order for a Beacon Road property in Herne Bay following a half-year pattern of drug-related activity and intimidation.
Neighbours reported that the flat had become a hub for suspected drug dealing and volatile behaviour, with some residents receiving threats of violence for speaking out. The sustained distress forced several tenants to flee their homes and seek temporary housing elsewhere for their own safety.
Following a collaborative investigation between local officers and property managers, Margate Magistrates’ Court granted the order on April 23, 2026. The legal mandate bans all individuals except emergency and social services from entering the premises, and the previous tenants have been successfully evicted. Police now hold enhanced powers to arrest anyone attempting to breach the secured flat during the closure period.
PC Christopher Green said:
‘Removing problem properties like this from our community demonstrates our commitment to tackling antisocial behaviour in Herne Bay. No resident should ever have to endure this level of disorder created by a neighbour.
‘I’m pleased we were able to take firm and decisive action to protect the community.’
