Man Charged Following Serious Incidents in Chatham


Authorities have charged a suspect in connection with two serious assaults that occurred in Chatham.

The investigation began late in the evening on March 12, 2026, when police were alerted to a man who had sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he received treatment and was subsequently released.

Further inquiries led investigators to a nearby residential property where the initial incident is believed to have taken place. A woman also later reported sustaining serious injuries during the same event.

Following an investigation into the circumstances, a 21-year-old man was arrested in Essex on April 15. He has since been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The suspect was remanded in custody following his initial court appearance and is scheduled to appear in crown court at a later date.
