Law enforcement teams in Gravesend have successfully removed more than a dozen illegal electric bikes and scooters from local streets during a targeted day of action against anti-social riding. Working in a joint operation on Saturday, 10 April 2026, officers from the Community Safety Unit and the Special Constabulary patrolled the Gravesham area to specifically address growing concerns regarding nuisance vehicles.

The intensive enforcement effort resulted in the seizure of 14 e-bikes and scooters, along with the recovery of a suspected stolen motorbike. Beyond the focus on two-wheeled vehicles, officers also intercepted and seized a van discovered to be operating without insurance and transporting children without proper safety restraints.

To sustain this momentum, Kent Police have launched a dedicated digital reporting portal designed to empower residents in the fight against dangerous driving. This new platform allows members of the public to directly upload images and footage of vehicles that persistently cause problems in their neighborhoods, including off-road motorbikes and e-bikes.

The evidence collected through the portal will be used to streamline future enforcement and ensure that those who continue to plague the community with illegal or reckless vehicle use are held accountable.

Inspector Ben Dunne said:

‘We understand the irritation and hazards these vehicles can bring, and we are grateful to the public for reporting their concerns so we can tackle the issue effectively. We urge anyone who sees a vehicle being used in an antisocial or dangerous manner to take a picture or video and upload it onto our new portal so that we can investigate and seize them if appropriate. By working together, and through regular days of action, we aim to improve the quality of life for residents, whilst ensuring those who persistently flout the law are brought to justice.’
