Do you have an instrument gathering dust, or are you looking for a vibrant group to level up your playing? Ashford Sinfonia is officially scouting for new members to join their friendly, flourishing musical family!
What started years ago as a “beginners and returners” group has blossomed into a dynamic amateur orchestra that isn’t afraid to tackle a challenge. Under the inspiring leadership of Musical Director Timothy Bushnell, the ensemble explores a wide range of exciting and sophisticated repertoire, pushing creative boundaries while keeping the atmosphere lighthearted and welcoming.
While they are an ambitious group, they place a huge premium on the simple enjoyment of making music together and generally look for regular players around Grade 4 or 5 proficiency, but are also big believers in mentorship; beginners are warmly encouraged to join, as there is truly no better way to sharpen your skills than by sitting in the heart of a live orchestra. Their calendar is always full of highlights, including informal concerts and festive collaborations—much like the smash-hit joint Christmas concert in 2025.
They meet every Monday during term time to transform sheet music into magic at St. Mary the Virgin Church, Bentley Road, Willesborough. Rehearsals run from 7.15pm to 9.00pm, providing the perfect weekly dose of creativity and community.
If you are ready to be a part of the sound of Ashford, they’d love to hear from you. Please contact Malcolm Triggs for further information by calling +447970 968314 or emailing malcolm@go4marketing.net.
